This week, Rotary District Governor Laura Day and her "right hand man", Cecil "Pancho" Padilla, stopped by for a visit. It's always a treat to listen to Ms. Day's words of wisdom and inspiring messages. Her biggest message - have fun! We all have our day jobs and choose to be a part of Rotary for the opportunity to serve, interact with others and, most importantly have a good time. During Laura's visit we also learned more about her chosen project for the year, Kenya Smiles. At the beginning of their year of service, each Governor gets to choose a project for the clubs within the district. The goal of Kenya Smiles is healthier children free from preventable pain, eager to learn and ready to play now and in the future (ah, the fun theme continues!). For $10, Rotarians can provide a dental care backpack to a child in Kenya. For more details about the program, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Great to see you Laura and Pancho! We look forward to your next visit.
The certificate in her hand (and all of this year's speakers' hands) is a certificate of a dental kit donated to the Kenya Smiles project in the speaker's name.
