Mark Creffield, President & CEO of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce came to today's meeting to update us on the Chamber's happenings. Revamping its logo and website are just a couple of things the Chamber is doing to stay current and relevant. In addition to the mixers and ribbon cuttings the Chamber is well known for, the Chamber does a lot of other things to promote our community. One of the programs that got our attention is its GOTCHA program whereby the Chamber provides local business the opportunity to join the educational community in rewarding and recognizing high school and middle school students for positive choices and behavior (academic and personal achievements, community service, random acts of kindness). For more information about the Chamber, check out their website at www.vacavillechamber.com. Thanks, Mark, for coming to our meeting!
Thanks to Matt Hefner for coming to our meeting to tell us about the Vacaville Rugby Club. With a men's club (the Old Dog Rugby Club), a highschool club (the Black Dog Rugby Club) and the creation of a middle school club in 2013, the club has a broad reach. And we love the Club's expectation of community support through volunteer work. We look forward to working with their members at our upcoming events, including the 5th Annual Sunrise Run (which you can sign up for starting this Friday, 11/16 at www.sunriserun.org).
